If you are a beginner and planning to learn cyber security, it is always better to start with basics. For beginners, “pre-security” path which just releases from tryhackme is a better option to begin with.
There are 5 categories that cover 15 rooms. 5 categories are Cyber Security Introduction, Network Fundamentals, How the Web Works, Linux Fundamentals and Windows Fundamentals. At end of each room, you can complete quizzes and practicals to get a better understanding of what you learnt.
Cyber Security Introduction
This room gives us a short introduction of learning cyber security. It introduce you to the basics of web application security and network security.
Network Fundamentals
Here we can learn the core concepts behind network. This room covers OSI model, LAN, protocols, VPN and firewall etc.
How the Web Works
In this room we can learn about DNS, HTTP request/response, headers, web servers and web exploits etc.
Linux Fundamentals
As many servers in the world are linux servers, it is very important to learn linux basics as a beginner for cyber security. So, this category in Pre-Security learning path will help you to understand the basics of Linux environment by covering shells, permissions, filesystems, processors and logs etc.
Windows Fundamentals
It is very important get the basics of Linux as well as basics of Windows. Here, it covers important topics such as file systems, folders, permissions, configurations and cmd etc. in a more comfortable level.

As a beginner for cyber security path, Pre-Security path helped me a lot to cover the basics interestingly and more comfortably. Every category is well explained with practicals for a beginner to understand what they learn. Therefore, I recommend newbies to enter cyber security world by taking first step by completing “presecurity” path.
